New Brighton and Hove Albion manager Fabian Hürzeler has suggested he and his entire coaching team may just take up residence together somewhere in Brighton as he plans to settle down properly.
The Brighton boss has been talking to Hamburger Morgenpost about his plans after arriving from St Pauli this summer to replace Roberto De Zerbi.
The move is something of a drastic one for the 31-year-old, who has so far only managed in Germany, first in the youth setup of the national team and then with St. Pauli, who he joined as an assistant manager in August 2020 before moving up the ranks two years later.
That means, like a player moving from a foreign country for the first time, the German coach is having to acclimatise quickly to a way of life he may not be accustomed to.
The biggest logistical problem for any player, manager, or even coaching member is often finding a place to live, hence why they often end up in properties either owned by players and managers who’ve moved on or were at least rented by them at some point previously.
Premier League clubs have whole teams working behind the scenes on matters such as this, but Hürzeler may have a plan to make their jobs a little easier.
“I feel very comfortable here,” he said when asked about how he’d settled in.
“The people are extremely open, incredibly helpful, very friendly. It’s really great. At the moment I’m still living in a hotel. After our trip to Japan, we’ll move into a house and then settle in little by little.
“It’s possible that I’ll live with my assistant coaches, and we’ll all share a flat.”
Estate agents in Brighton have been put on notice.
