On January 29th, we relayed news from France and Belgium that Leicester City are interested in signing AS Monaco’s Youri Tielemans on loan and Adrien Silva will be allowed to move in the opposite direction.
Het Belang van Limburg’s latest update will bring good news for the Foxes and it’s explained the 21-year-old should now be heading to the Premier League with less than two days left in the transfer window.
As a part of the deal, Silva will be allowed to join the Ligue 1 side and the former Anderlecht man will join Claude Puel’s side on a temporary deal which will not include an option to buy.
On Tuesday, Monaco were knocked out of the Couple de la Ligue by Guingamp on penalties and Jardim left Tielemans out of the squad for the cup competition.
The report also explains that Tielemans had contacts from Newcastle United, while Tottenham directors wanted the player on loan with a purchase option.
However, Mauricio Pochettino wasn’t convinced and the Belgian is now heading towards Leicester and the temporary move to the King Power Stadium is expected to be completed today, as long as there’s no late issues.
Even if the Spurs boss had wanted the deal, it’s been made clear Monaco have been looking for a loan without an option.
On Tuesday we covered claims from France that Claude Puel had given the loan swap his approval, and Tielemans was expected to travel on Tuesday (which he didn’t) or Wednesday.
