Roberto Firmino is a vital player in Liverpool’s attack, alongside Sadio Mané and Mohamed Salah.

On February 10th, reports coming out of England talked about Bayern Munich interest in signing the Brazil international, especially with the Reds chasing RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner.

It was suggested the Bundesliga side could test the Champions League winners’ resolve with an offer as high as £75m.

Sky Germany has decided to take a look at these claims and their transfer expert Max Bielefeld provides an update.

He makes it clear there is ‘nothing to be said’ about the claim of Bayern interest in Firmino. Bielefeld further explains it’s ‘very, very unlikely’ that Jürgen Klopp’s star will move to the Allianz Arena in the summer.

That’s because the 28-year-old is one of Klopp’s favourite players, who is used regularly. Therefore, a ‘transfer is hardly an option’.

Liverpool fans may be relieved, but, in reality, they almost certainly knew the claims were nonsense anyway. Bayern’s local media haven’t been reporting it, so it’s stretch to think an English tabloid would get the scoop.
