Bayer Leverkusen are fully aware of the negotiations between Liverpool and Jeremie Frimpong and fully expect him to agree to join the Reds this summer.

That’s according to journalist Florian Plettenberg, who report that’s that oncee Liverpool and Frimpong have concluded their negotiations, Liverpool will officially approach Leverkusen about a move.

The German side are expecting an agreement to be reached between Liverpool and Frimpong before too long. The Reds are then expected to activate the full-back’s release clause, which is valued at €35-40m.

Liverpool have made their move for Frimpong this week, with him seemingly the number one target to replace the departing Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The player and his agent has been negotiating with Reds over a deal to take the player to Anfield, with it explained that Liverpool are expected to activate the defender’s release clause at some point in the coming weeks.

Plettenberg reports that Leverkusen are ‘expecting an agreement to be reached’ and are aware that negotiations between the player and Liverpool are taking place.

They believe that once Liverpool and Frimpong have concluded these negotiations, Liverpool will officially approach them activate his release clause of €35-40m. They expect a deal to be struck with the player before to long.

It’s all confidence in Germany, where the deal is now being treated as pretty much done, even by Leverkusen, who are yet to talk to Liverpool.
