The Portuguese press has now started reporting the possibilities of Leeds United making moves to hold Oliver Sarkic at the club for longer.

Portuguese newspaper O Jogo actually takes news from the English outlets to say the Elland Road side is analysing their chances of keeping the youngster, who’s loaned from Benfica until the end of the year.

Sarkic has been scoring goals for Leeds’ U23, and that’s why the striker could have a chance to play for the first team soon.

But we’ve had a look in the English press and there isn’t much about Leeds signing Sarkic permanently. As usual, HITC has a story suggesting something, and that was probably picked up as a fact.

Their article claimed that as the loan is getting to the final month, the player should be analysed closely, and see if it’s worth keeping him.

But it seems the Portuguese press got overexcited when reading the news, and now think that the Leeds United permanent deal is close to happening.

Aside from speculation, something much more certain is that Benfica would listen to any reasonable offer, with the club again looking to raise funds.
