Turkish show Kırmızı Çizgi this week claimed Irfan Kahveci could leave Basaksehir for an English club in the upcoming transfer window.

It was explained the 23 year old midfielder’s recent slump in form is because it’s likely he will leave the Super Lig leaders this summer: “Irfan Can is likely to leave the club at the end of the season. That’s why he is not performing very well recently.”

Following the show, Sport Witness contacted a source close to the story to try and find out the club involved, and were informed it’s West Ham. The Premier League side are said to be interested in his services and are now exploring the possibility of signing the player.

West Ham have also been linked with fellow Super Lig midfielder Dorukhan Tokoz in recent weeks but could face competition from Newcastle United.

Kahveci has played 28 games for the Turkish club in the league this season, scoring 4 goals and providing 5 assists.

The Turkey international is under contract at Basaksehir until June 2021.
