There’s no chance that Everton are signing the Juventus goalkeeper Neto soon, according to his agent.

The Toffees made an approach to buy the player in the last window, but he was asked to remain at the Old Lady to be a replacement for Gianluigi Buffon, and ended up staying.

“Yeah, in summer,” said Neto’s agent Stefano Castagna when asked by Sport Witness if he had any talks with the English club.

But when questioned if there’s the possibility of finding a deal with the English side, he was very clear: “No, absolutely no.”

The representative also stated that he didn’t have any contacts with Everton after the window closed, meaning that the club have shown no further interest in signing Neto, probably content with signing Maarten Stekelenburg.

Neto had a decent career at Fiorentina and moved to Juventus in 2015 for free. As Buffon’s backup, he’s made eight appearances, with only 44 minutes being played this season. His contract at the Italian side runs until 2019.
