There’s a lot of excitement in Belgium about how well Eden Hazard is doing this season at Chelsea under Maurizio Sarri.
Despite always being the prodigal son back in his home country, the fact the former Lille starlet never quite reached the heights of the Cristiano Ronaldos and the Lionel Messis has been a bit of a disappointment.
However, with the former Napoli man taking over from Antonio Conte this season, there’s a renewed belief the Belgian forward could reach those heights, especially now that he has a manager who wants to help him get there, as explained by Vincenzio Ciuro on Le Grand Debrief.
He said: “Never has a manager spoken about Hazard in the way Sarri has, which proves he really, really believes in him and he can push him to sit at the table and mingle with the best players in the world.
“Eden has the ability, and has had it for a while, but to see him now, like his goal at Anfield in the Carabao Cup, few players are able to do that.”
Last season, Hazard scored 12 goals and picked up four assists in 34 league games under Antonio Conte, but this campaign has indeed seen the 27-year-old take his attacking prowess to a whole new level, scoring six goals and assisting his teammates twice in the first seven Premier League matches.
Add to that the goal he got against Chelsea, and he’s nearly halfway to his 2017-18 tally of 17 strikes.
We’ve barely made it to October.
