Earlier on Monday, we covered the latest on the Xherdan Shaqiri to Lyon transfer.
The Liverpool player is already in Lyon to try and finalise a deal expected to bring the Reds an initial €6m, and medicals have already taken place.
That’s according to RMC Sport, who take to their liveblog to explain the situation.
Arriving on Sunday night, the Liverpool player spent 1.5 hours at the Paul Santi centre in Lyon this morning, which is an orthopaedic centre, but that doesn’t mean it’s over yet.
The French outlet explain that ‘other exams await him’, suggesting Lyon aren’t quite done with checking if they are getting a fully fit Shaqiri before putting pen to paper on the transfer with Liverpool.
After all, the player has a somewhat sketchy injury history, and it’s only fair clubs do their utmost to ensure their investments arrive in the best possible shape.
It should all get done sooner rather than later, however, and both Liverpool and Shaqiri can start afresh, having enjoyed some memorable times together over the past three years.
