While there are undoubtedly going to be a few transfers at Newcastle United in the months and years to come, with a vast overhaul of the squad expected, one man should stay put and could highly benefit from the recent takeover.

That’s Allan Saint-Maximin, a fan favourite at St James’ Park, as the Frenchman tends to get the crowd on the edge of their seat every time he gets the ball, and there is a feeling he could take his game to the next level if he was simply surrounded by better players.

Another who feels this way is one of his former teammates, Yoan Cardinale, who is currently without a club, but played alongside the Newcastle star during his time at OGC Nice.

Leaving the team he had been at for 12 years in the summer, the 27-year-old has yet to find himself a new landing spot, which gave him time to sit down with Onze Mondial to discuss his career and some of his friends.

One of those was Saint-Maximin, whom he only had good things to say about: “Allan, he has a very unique outlook on life. He doesn’t see things like everyone else. You can tell him what you want, he won’t change. But on the pitch, he sees everything quicker, dribbles like no other and goes faster than everyone else.

“He’s a monster. I hope Newcastle’s situation improves as he deserves to play for a team that aims higher. I think he will keep his place in the team even if some really great players arrive in the months to come”.

The 24-year-old winger has been one of Newcastle’s better players this season, scoring three goals and picking up three assists in 12 league games so far, most recently finding the back of the net in the 3-3 draw against Brentford.
