A return to England for former Manchester United midfielder Ravel Morrison isn’t likely at this stage according to claims in Italy. Morrison has been linked with a move to Aston Villa in recent days, but the youngster could still have future at Lazio.
Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio has revealed that despite Morrison being left out of Lazio’s trip to Atalanta at the weekend, the player’s exclusion isn’t because he’ll be leaving the Serie A club before the deadline.
Morrison was said to be disappointed by Simone Inzaghi’s decision not to include him in his squad, because the attacking midfielder thought he’d done enough to earn his place after he completed 45 minutes in a pre-season friendly last week.
Morrison’s exclusion wasn’t down injury, but it’s claimed he could stay at Lazio despite being linked with Aston Villa. The Lazio fans are also keen to see the 23-year-old make an impact at the club, and they are hoping he repays the faith they’ve put in him.
Morrison has struggled to settle in Italy since joining Lazio last year, but during the pre-season he showed in glimpses what he can bring to the Italian side.
Aston Villa owner Tony Xia responded to the rumours in his own way over the weekend.
Until today, he hasn’t been on our list. https://t.co/EvKQd0y0Cu
