The French and the Spanish media turned their attention today to the leaked conversation between Karim Benzema and Ferland Mendy at Real Madrid’s game from last night.

As reported by RMC Sport, the striker told the left-back not to pass the ball to Vinícius Junior, accusing the Brazilian of ‘playing against’ his own side.

Things got a lot bigger once the news got to Brazil, where several people came out on Vinícius Junior’s defence. One of them was Everton star Richarlison.

The Toffees player went to Benzema’s last post on Instagram, and using Portuguese slangs, commented something like ‘Evil Vini’s troops’.

Well, that only encouraged a horde of other Brazilians to show up on the Frenchman’s Instagram and start complaining about his behaviour. Some would only throw offences, and others ask him to apologise to Vinícius Junior.

Richarlison’s comment was the most liked on that post, and hours later, the Everton player deleted it. That’s probably because it was drawing too much attention, but the damage was already done.
