Chelsea made efforts to sign Jules Koundé towards the end of the last summer transfer window, but their offer was not accepted by Sevilla.
The defender is expected to leave the La Liga side in the ongoing window and the Blues are again named as one of his suitors.
AS explain Sevilla, after parting ways with Luuk de Jong, are accelerating to finalise further exit operations in the coming days. The one that they depend upon the most is the sale of the 23-year-old.
It’s claimed ‘everything seemed set for a move to Chelsea’ for the centre-back. He also has a ‘full agreement’ with the Blues.
In addition to this, the west London club have held talks with Julen Lopetegui’s side to sign the France international this summer. However, the report states the most recent meetings between the two clubs have ‘not yet yielded positive results’.
Apart from Thomas Tuchel’s side, Barcelona are also named as an interested club. The Catalan side have so far not made a convincing offer to Sevilla.
