With every day we edge closer to the summer transfer window, Danilo’s exit from Manchester City takes a small step towards completion.

Earlier this week, Gazzetta dello Sport explained everything was heading in the right direction, but Inter still needed to find an agreement with the Premier League leaders, who want €20-25m for their defender.

It was stated Inter could afford to increase their offer ‘without bleeding themselves’ dry, and it seems they’re getting ever closer, according to the same outlet on Thursday.

On their website, Gazzetta believe Danilo will end up playing at the San Siro next year as ‘everything points towards’ the Brazilian being the one to take Sime Vrsaljko’s and Cédric Soares’ places.

An agreement for a ‘long contract’ has been found (four to five years) with a slight reduction of salary, and Manchester City ‘won’t put up the barricades’ for an exit, even if they would rather wait until the end of the season.

To us, that sounds like it’s almost done, but it never is until said player is either holding a scarf over his head or the subject of a quirky unveiling video on social media.
