On November 18th we covered a report from Spanish newspaper AS which explained Denis Suarez has had enough of his situation at Barcelona.

He’s recently realised just how far down the pecking order he is at the Camp Nou, and that Ernesto Valverde doesn’t consider him a key piece of the squad, even when it comes to making substitution decisions.

AS stated a move to Arsenal was a ‘favourite option’ for the attacking midfielder. Unai Emery’s style of football was seen as a plus and something which would help Suarez adapt at a new club.

At that stage it looked to be Suarez fancying a move to the Gunners, but it wasn’t going to be long before it was claimed Arsenal want him too.

That’s what Sport have now done.

They say the Premier League club have joined the list of those interested in a transfer, with Napoli and AC Milan also getting a mention.

‘Everything indicates’ that a transfer is on the agenda, it’s just a question of where to. Right now it’s thought a move outside of Spain is likeliest.

Suarez would struggle to get into Emery’s starting eleven at Arsenal but he may have more look as a substitute than he’s currently experiencing.
