Crystal Palace have become the latest club to join the race to sign Atlético Madrid’s Reinildo Mandava in the summer window, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The left-back’s contract expires in June, but recent claims from Spain have stated he has signed a short-term contract to extend his stay at Atlético until the end of the Club World Cup in July.
Reinildo can then leave the La Liga club as a free agent and Crystal Palace are among the clubs looking to sign him.
The 31-year-old won’t be short of options because he has already received approaches from clubs in Spain, England, Italy, France, Turkey and Saudi Arabia. Mundo haven’t shared details of the clubs that made contact and only name the Eagles in their report.
Crystal Palace have become the latest to join the list of clubs that want to secure the Mozambique international’s services.
Tyrick Mitchell and Ben Chilwell [on loan from Chelsea] were the two left-backs at Oliver Glasner’s disposal. As things stand, Chilwell will have to return to his parent club while Mitchell has a month left on his contract.
The FA Cup winners have to sign two left-backs if the duo aren’t retained. They qualified for the Europa League and therefore have to improve their squad to continue growing. Mundo state Crystal Palace see Reinildo as a ‘more than interesting player to do so’.
