Leo Bonatini’s move to Vitória de Guimarães has now been confirmed by the president of the Portuguese club.
Speaking to local outlets last night, Miguel Pinho Lisboa claimed that the Wolverhampton Wanderers striker will be having a spell at the club for a season.
“Leo Bonatini will be of Vitória on a loan with an option to buy,” said the president on Thursday, leaving an official announcement for later (via Notícias Ao Minuto).
Bonatini’s move to Vitória Guimarães was confirmed by Sport Witness’ sources on Thursday.
We were told he’s signing a one-year loan deal on Friday, and the Portuguese side will have the chance to sign him permanently for €3.5m, with Wolves keeping 50% of a future transfer in that case.
For now, the Portuguese press doesn’t seem too sure about the details, so perhaps they will publish it during the day. Notícias Ao Minuto is the only one that says ‘everything indicates’ a €3.5m buying option.
Bonatini’s contract with Wolves runs until 2022. This will be his second straight loan, since he spent the closing part of last season at Nottingham Forest.
