Harry Kane was one of several footballers to take part in a Nike event on Monday and therefore it’s no surprise a European newspaper managed to get a few words with the Tottenham star.

Turin’s Tuttosport sound like big fans of Kane, calling him the ‘bomber’ and soul of Tottenham. With some praise handed out about the way Tottenham have been playing, and the entertainment aspect, Kane was quick to say he hopes it stays that way: “True, we are playing well and with determination. You say that what’s played by Tottenham is the most enjoyable game in England? I will be sure not to contradict you, indeed I thank you, also on behalf of my teammates and the manager.

“We will do everything to make you not change your mind. we have to continue like this, again and again. The morale is high, we come from a good run in the last round and we beat West Brom easily. I think that with the right continuity we can finally take some satisfaction and make our fans celebrate seriously.”

After a little joking about having to beat the Italian managers to succeed with Tottenham, Kane emphasised that Spurs need to keep producing on the pitch to stand any chance. The striker respects Chelsea manager Antonio Conte and know that there’s a tough battle ahead: “We are aware of our strength, we know that we have what it takes to make a top class championship. Everything else is just talk, what will happen on the pitch is what decides.

“It’s certain that Conte is a top-level manager: we saw him when he was coaching Juventus, and he repeated the same thing when manager of Italy and now he is confirming it in the Premier League. You don’t do well in three different occasions if you are not really good and prepared.”

It perhaps says something that Tuttosport didn’t even push Kane for comments on a possible future move to Italy. The Turin newspaper believe most players hold some kind of Juventus desire, but given they know how committed Kane is to Tottenham, perhaps they thought there was no point.
