Despite feeling like they may have seen the last of Patrick Cutrone when he left on loan to Fiorentina just six months after arriving at Wolverhampton Wanderers, the Molineux faithful have been treated to the odd story suggesting he could come back.
The Italian has taken some time to adapt to Giuseppe Iachini’s style of play and has only started scoring regularly over the past few weeks, meaning the previous uncertainty led to some claims he could head back to England.
One of those came from La Nazione, who stated the terms of his loan meant the purchase option would only be made automatic after a certain amount of appearances, but that shouldn’t be a problem anymore.
Part of this comes from the player himself, as the Wolves loanee, who scored his team’s second in a 2-0 win over Torino on Sunday, made it clear what he wanted from the future.
Speaking to the press after the game, he said, relayed by Gazzetta dello Sport: “The transfer window? I want to stay in Florence and give everything for my team. Everything else doesn’t matter, like everything that’s being written”.
With all four of his goals in Serie A coming after the Covid-19 break, the young Italian appears to finally be happy in Florence, and it seems the idea of returning to Wolverhampton, whether it be now or later, simply isn’t crossing his mind.
He’s a Fiorentina player, and that’s what he’s aiming to be going forward.
