Brighton & Hove Albion defender Leo Ostigard is now on the verge of completing his protracted move to Napoli after the two clubs struck an agreement.

That’s according to Corriere Dello Sport, who say ‘everything is defined’ between the two sides to let the transfer happen.

They explain that Ostigard, who Napoli are targeting to fill their fourth centre-back position, has been in agreement with the Italian side for some time but waiting for them to reach a deal with Brighton.

The two side had initially been far apart in their valuations, but they’ve now closed an agreement on a deal worth €5m plus €4m in bonuses.

The idea at Napoli is to get the deal closed completely as quickly as possible so they can include the player in their pre-season camp in Dimaro.

They now want to get the ‘exchange of documents’ done, but that is described as a ‘fight against time’ for them.

According to the newspaper, ‘officialdom’ could arrive ‘at any moment’ now that the two sides have managed to agree on a price after weeks of haggling.

That opened the door for Ostigard to leave Brighton and make his move to Naples, with Luciano Spalletti’s side pushing hard to bring him to Italy sooner rather than later.
