Arsenal star Gabriel Jesus had on Sunday a word with ESPN Brasil following the 3-1 loss to Manchester United.

Despite the loss, it’s fair to say the Gunners did not have a bad game at Old Trafford.

They even managed to open the score with Gabriel Martinelli, but had the goal ruled out with VAR’s assistance.

Then, despite conceding a goal, Mikel Arteta’s side had a good comeback to it, equalising with Bukayo Saka and pressuring the Red Devils, until Marcus Rashford scored his side’s second.

That’s the reason why Gabriel Jesus showed a lot of frustration regarding the result, and complained about some decisions from the referee.

“We came here to play our game. I think they could see that we played well, we controlled. The first two goals we conceded, we were better in the match. Not to mention some things that happened that totally changed the course of the match. But I didn’t come here to talk about refereeing, that sort of thing. But everyone saw. We played, imposed our rhythm until the last minute,” Gabriel Jesus told ESPN Brasil.

“As I said, we were doing well in the match, going there, not scoring, conceding the goal. Then equalising, continuing well, conceding another goal. It ends up lowering our game a little. But I think we made a great match. We need to improve, we know that, but the team is to be congratulated on the match.”

Arsenal had been unbeaten in the Premier League season, but Gabriel Jesus claims it’s normal to lose games during their campaign, pointing out how balanced the games in English football normally are.

“It’s the Premier League. All clubs can win matches. Of course we are doing well, playing well. However, we also know that, on the other hand, if you don’t kill the game soon, there will be complications. Unfortunately, that was the case today. I believe that we played very well, even more than the opponent. But it’s football. If you end up scattering, you can take and lose the game. That was the case today”

The Gunners’ now switch their mindset to the Europa League, as on Thursday, they’ll be in Switzerland facing FC Zurich.

They’ll be back in London at the weekend, as they play Everton at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
