Coming off an impressive season with Torino this season, Armando Izzo has recently been linked with a move to the Premier League.

Teams such as Arsenal, Manchester United and Everton have all been mentioned as potential landing spots for the Italian defender, with claims his agent flew to England to sit down with various clubs.

Arsenal have been the most linked, with two separate sources suggesting the move.

However, speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, and asked about those clubs, the defender has made it clear he isn’t exactly looking for a move right now, even if interest from teams like the Gunners was nice to hear.

He said: “For now I’m happy. Everyone likes to be courted. I have four years left on my contract at Torino, and I want to show my worth: I don’t like just being called a good player. I’m worth more.

“Among Italian defenders, other than Chiellini, I don’t see others stronger or more determined than I am. I’m honoured to wear Torino’s shirt and I will spill blood until the last day I wear it.”

So, while not entirely ruling out a transfer, it seems Izzo is pretty content with how things are going over in Italy.

With a number of Premier League teams, especially Arsenal and Manchester United, needing reinforcements at the back, however, we’ll have to see how strong Torino’s (and Izzo’s) resolve really is if push comes to shove and a great offer lands on their respective desks.

The 27-year-old played 37 out of 38 Serie A games last year, helping his team out with four goals and an assist along the way.
