Chelsea fought hard in signing Cesare Casadei from Inter Milan in the summer window.

The west London club saw a few of their bids for the midfielder get turned down by the Nerazzurri, who were keen to include a buyback clause as a part of the deal.

Inter finally agreed a deal of €15m plus €5m bonuses with Chelsea for the 19-year-old’s sale, but they failed convincing the Blues to include a clause to buy him back.

In his debut for the Chelsea U21, the Italy U21 international was sent off in their defeat to Sutton United in the EFL Trophy.

Since then, the teenager has made two appearances in the Premier League 2, scoring a goal in each of those ties.

Former Inter defender Daniele Adani has shared his views on the English club completing the signing of one of the youngest stars from Italy.

“Casadei is a 15-goal player in the Primavera, he has a straight run like Vecino,” Adani told BoboTv, relayed by Calciomercato.

“He has the ability to get in the middle of ten people, but the ball gets to him. In his head, he has a time as if everyone disappeared. He is not a technically fine player, but he has that drive that I think in England they thought they could grow.”

“In my opinion physically in the Primavera, it made a difference. We have to see him make his debut, he went to Chelsea in an incredible way, but it must be seen first.”

Casadei has not made his debut for the club senior team but if he manages to shine in the Premier League 2, it won’t be long before Graham Potter hands him his first appearance for Chelsea.
