Late in the summer transfer window, Leeds allegedly enquired about Montpellier defender William Rémy, a move we were a bit surprised about.

The reason behind this was the fact the 26-year-old hasn’t played for the Ligue 1 side since the end of January, and while he may be cheap, there was little to suggest he was the man to shore up the defence at Elland Road.

Yet to make an appearance this season, not even featuring on the bench, Rémy’s future at the club looks very bleak indeed, and a January exit is definitely on the cards.

While this would normally be good news for Leeds if they were still interested, L’Equipe’s latest update on the player leaves a lot to be desired, as they reveal ‘everyone at the club, from the coaching staff to the board’ are behind the idea of him leaving.

Not even training with the first team, the centre-back has been pushed to one side, often criticised for being immature and lacking professionalism.

Considering this is an important season for Leeds, with the club currently in a favourable position to make the playoffs come the end of the campaign, bringing in someone with those characteristics might not be the best idea.

Perhaps one for Thomas Christiansen to forget.
