Manchester United fans were caught by surprise when the club was linked to Enzo Diaz last week.
The 20-year-old left-back, who plays for Argentine second division side Agropecuario, was reportedly watched by Red Devils scouts, who were ‘amazed’ with his performance.
This isn’t exactly a common rumour, and that’s why our eyebrows were raised when reading such a story.
Now the player himself has confirmed Manchester United scouts not only watched him, but were impressed and will come back for more.
Speaking to Ataque Futbolero, the player gave a general interview about his career, and wasn’t afraid to answer to questions about the Red Devils.
“Two emissaries from Manchester United came to see me but I still have to get the answer. It’s every footballer’s dream,” he said (via TyC, Infobae and Olé).
“I found out about it on Saturday morning (November 6th) but later I didn’t talk to anyone other than my agent, who told me they were delighted and they were going to see me a couple more games.”
Now the youngster is likely to make huge efforts to impress the Manchester United scouts again. And if he does, and gets signed, it will be one of the club’s more unusual transfers.
