As the Portuguese media won’t stop writing about the future of Sporting winger Issahaku Fatawu, we continue to see Everton labelled as one of the main competitors in the race for his signing.
It was earlier this week that the Toffees’ interest was revealed, with a report saying the Merseyside club had sent a scout to watch the player in a Champions League game.
Today, a few newspapers have stories on the 18-year-old. One of them is Jornal de Notícias, who claim Fatawu has ‘pretenders’ in England, with Everton included. Still, they point out no ‘official approaches’ have been made yet.
Correio da Manhã is another featuring a piece on the winger, this time with more details, and claiming that the ‘minimum’ price for his January exit would be €40m.
Fatawu has just been included in Ghana’s squad for the World Cup, and that’s seen as a factor which could ‘accelerate the interest in England’ for a potential winter move.
Everton are once again named as one of the interested clubs, this time along with the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United.
Even though Sporting don’t want to listen to offers for now, it’s said the €40m request should be no problem, since all pretenders have a ‘good financial capacity’.
