There’s an Everton transfer story building in the Croatian media. Sportske Novosti claim Everton have prepared a €20m offer for Lovre Kalinic.
The 27 year old goalkeeper moved to Gent during the winter transfer window, after an earlier move to Aston Villa failed over a work permit. If Kalinic transferred to England for a fee in the region of €20m then his work permit situation would be easier.
Sportske Novosti report Gent are initially minded to refuse the Everton offer, because they want to keep Kalinic where he is. However, in reality it’s being ‘carefully considered’ and Gent are looking for a replacement.
If the club can find an adequate replacement at a good price, then it’s of course much likelier Ronald Koeman will receive a positive answer.
Kalinic is increasingly highly rated and if Everton are having problems with other goalkeeper routes then it would be no surprise if he’s been indentified.
