Colombia legend Faustino Asprilla has warned Everton to be aware of Yerry Mina, claiming his performances have been covered by their winning start to the season.
The centre back has started in all three of Everton’s Premier League games so far, helping his side to secure maximum points in all of them.
While the rest of the team has been shining, though, the defender has put in some shaky performances, particularly in the weekend win over Crystal Palace.
That game saw Everton coming under increasing pressure from the Eagles and Mina rocking on more than one occasion.
Fortunately for him, the Blues were able to withstand Crystal Palace’s best attacking efforts, limiting them to one goal and securing all three points.
That meant Mina’s shaky performance did not matter, but Asprilla believes that Carlo Ancelotti and co need to be wary moving forward.
“Watch out for Yerry Mina. I don’t see him well,” he told Blu Radio, relayed by Gol Caracol.
“I see Yerry Mina always arriving at the wrong time when cutting balls, he goes to some balls that he should not go to, he does not measure the balls well. I don’t see him very sure of himself.
“What happens is that now in Everton everyone is talking about James, about those in front, and what happens is that by winning everything is covered.”
