Everton will now need to spend €35m if they wish to sign long-term target Udinese striker Beto, with AC Milan and Napoli now in the picture.
That’s according to Il Gazzettino, relayed by Area Napoli, who say AC Milan chief Paolo Maldini has ‘carried out some surveys’ for the striker.
Everton have long been linked with a move for Beto, with his name brought up continuously during their search for a striker in the January transfer window.
Indeed, they made a last minute attempt to secure his signature, only for the player to turn it down and instead state that he would decide his future with more time in the summer.
It’s since been made clear that he would be available for €25m if they wished to revive their interest, but Il Gazzettino say the price has now risen by €10m.
They explain that AC Milan and Napoli are now tracking the player as a result of his ‘good season’ with Udinese and Maldini has already taken the first steps to ‘understand the feasibility’ of a potential transfer at the end of the season.
Napoli, meanwhile, would only make their move if they sell Victor Osimhen, with the Nigerian highly sought-after in the Premier League.
He’s valued at around €100m and if they were to get that they would have much more money than Milan to move for the likes of Beto.
Udinese are not willing to let him go on the cheap, though, and instead ‘shoots high’ in terms of their valuation and are looking for ‘a good €35m’ if he is to depart.
That’s €10m more than he was being valued at in the middle of March, something which, alongside the increased competition for his signature, is making it complicated for Everton to get him in the summer.
