It’s no secret that FC Porto will have to sell some players this window. With Financial Fair Play requiring some money income at the club, they will have no choice other than making some changes in the squad.

So it’s also no surprise that Yacine Brahimi is the first to be shown the door. The player has been close to a departure for over an year now, and after the good season he had, this is the perfect time for a transfer.

As reported by A Bola today, the player’s preference is the Premier League, which quickly leads to Everton and West Ham links. That’s where he wants to play and that’s where the interested sides are, even though there aren’t new clubs showing up at Porto’s door looking for him recently.

That’s why Everton are still mentioned in the Brahimi stories. A Bola recalls that the Toffees started negotiations for the winger last summer, but weren’t able to find a deal at the time.

Brahimi has a €60m release clause, and since Porto only have 50% of the share, they will push to get the most of it from sale.

West Ham are another club who have been linked to him. The first time the interest was reported was also the last summer, but since then club scouts have been watching Porto.

With the Portuguese club needing money, this is a good opportunity for both Everton and West Ham to try to sign Brahimi. At the right price, of course.
