Everton have reached an agreement with Watford over midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure, with the player set to undergo a medical tomorrow.
That’s according to Telefoot Chaine, who say Everton and Watford have agreed on a €22m deal for the Frenchman, with him set to sign a four-year deal at Goodison Park.
The Blues have been heavily linked with a move for Doucoure over the last fortnight, with Carlo Ancelotti determined to improve his midfield this summer.
Reports claimed they were not the only ones interested, but the midfielder had indicated he wanted to move to Merseyside and link up with the Italian.
That put Everton at the front of the queue, and they have thus been locked in negotiations over a deal, with it first claimed that Watford wanted as much as €30m to sanction a transfer.
That was a price Everton were unwilling to pay, especially given they are spending big elsewhere on the likes of Allan and James Rodriguez.

They have seemingly managed to negotiate Watford down, though, with Telefoot claiming the two sides have agreed on a €22m deal, although it is not made clear whether than includes bonuses.
Nonetheless, he’s now set for a medical tomorrow before signing a four-year deal on Merseyside, in what is turning out to be quite a busy and exciting week at Goodison Park.
