On May 10th, Sport reported that Tottenham Hotspur had agreed with Andre Gomes’ representatives that they’d offer €30m to Barcelona in ‘the coming days’.

Three days later, the same outlet explained Everton are aware of Spurs’ ‘approaches’ for the midfielder.

The Portuguese international spent last season on loan at Goodison Park and on multiple occasions, Marco Silva has publicly expressed his desire to retain his compatriot.

The Spanish then went quiet on Tottenham claims, until Marca today backed up interest from Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Mundo Deportivo also has an update on Gomes, but it’s not related to Tottenham. The Catalan newspaper takes a look at those players who could be sold by the La Liga winners in the summer and the midfielder is on the list.

Regarding Gomes, they claim Everton ‘want’ him, but there are reports of a €30m proposal from England for the former Valencia man.

Mundo does not provide more details about the reported €30m offer, but we’re guessing they’re hinting at the recent reports linking him with a move to Tottenham.

Again, it’s worth noting Spurs and supposed offers from anywhere may be a tool to pressure Everton into a quick deal. Barcelona need some income from exits to help fund their signings.
