Kieran Trippier’s fine form for Atlético Madrid in their title winning campaign has prompted links with a move to Manchester United.
The Red Devils are not the only club chasing the right-back as Everton have joined United in the race for the 30-year-old.
That’s according to Friday’s edition of AS, who add the Toffees ‘want’ him this summer following the player’s ‘good work’ for the La Liga winners.
A deal, however, remains complicated because Los Rojiblancos’ intention is to retain the fullback.
His current deal was set to expire in 2022, the newspaper explains there was a clause in his contract to automatically extend his contract by further 12 months when he made more than 20 appearances last season.
Even though the likes of Everton and United want to bring the former Burnley man back to the Premier League in the summer, a deal remains difficult because of the time left on his contract and the stance maintained by Atlético.
According to AS, England international Trippier remains a ‘vital’ figure for Diego Simeone’s side.
