It’s time for Mauricio Lemos to come around once again on Everton’s wheel of transfer fortune.
Ronald Koeman’s men were last seriously credited with interest towards the end of May, so perhaps we’re on a monthly cycle, when it was stated Everton were in a tussle to sign the Las Palmas defender.
Everton were also repeatedly linked during the last summer transfer window, along with Barcelona, but nothing ever came of either club’s alleged race for the player.
Now it’s back.
Spanish newspaper Sport report there’s interest from AS Roma.
With Monchi, formerly of Sevilla, now the Italian club’s director of sport, it’s become fashionable in Spain to link Roma with La Liga players, and also in Italy.
Lemos is said to be ‘very coveted’ and Las Palmas want the full €30m of the Uruguayan’s release clause.
Everton are, according to Sport, only willing to pay €20m.
Once again, at the moment it seems like Everton are nothing more than a prop in the Mauricio Lemos transfer story.
