Everton have made an offer for Fenerbahçe midfielder Ozan Tufan ahead of the summer transfer window.
That’s according to Ajansspor, who say the Toffees are competing with Crystal Palace and Leicester City for his signature.
They explain that Tufan, who has had an impressive season in Turkey, with five goals and six assists in 27 games in the Süper Lig, and a recent star display in his country’s win over Norway, has been earning plenty of attention.
West Brom and Crystal Palace were both keen in the January transfer window, but Fenerbahçe rejected advances, preferring to keep a key player until the end of the season.
They’ve now decided to sell after the European Championships, though, and Everton have apparently joined the race.
Ajansspor state that Tufan current has five offers on the table, one from the Toffees, one from Palace, one from Leicester, one from Werder Bremen and one from Real Sociedad.
What these offers are isn’t mentioned, but it’s made clear that Fenerbache won’t sell for now, instead preferring to wait until after the Euros, where they believe Tufan will ‘increase his market’.
Their aim is to get at least €20m for their star man, with the club making it clear to the player and his agent they want a sale to raise funds for next season.
That is something Tufan is more than happy to help them do, having recently declared his desire to play in the Premier League, although whether that is with Everton remains to be seen.
Unlike Palace, their bid is not made clear as yet, with Ajansspor only stating that negotiations between the two clubs ‘continue to be tight’.
