These days, if there’s a story regarding Everton and Barcelona, it tends to be either about Ronald Koeman becoming the La Liga side’s manager, or Deulofeu getting bought back after an improvement in form during his loan spell at AC Milan.

However, there could be a player going to the other way, from Spain to Merseyside, if the Dutch manager gets his way.

Over the past few months, stories from both Mundo Deportivo and Sport have highlighted the Toffees’ interest in Barcelona’s Marc Cucurella, a young left-back currently hovering between their Juvenil A side and their B squad.

The 18-year-old’s contract runs out in the summer, and while he favours a stay in Spain, there is also the possibility of him looking elsewhere, which is where Everton come in.

As well as Ronald Koeman’s side, Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund have been hovering around ‘Cucu’, meaning Everton will have to be quite convincing if they are to beat the competition.

Expect more on this in the near future.
