Villarreal are willing to sell Arnaut Danjuma to the likes of Everton this month to help raise funds for their own transfer business.
That’s according to AS, who say Danjuma’s potential exit ‘will be key’ to carry out a move for goalkeeper Conan Ledesma.
Everton have been heavily linked with a move for Danjuma over the last few days, with a report three days ago explaining that negotiations are already underway.
That was followed by a claim that Villarreal are open to a deal this month and AS confirm as much today.
They explain that Villarreal want to sign Conan Ledesma from Cadiz and are ‘very serious’ in their pursuit of the player.
However, they need to carry out another operation to be able to pay the fee.
They have €8m at their disposal but need at least €10m and because of that are interested in selling Danjuma this month.
His departure would give them the ‘necessary economic contribution’ to deal with the move for Ledesma.
Thus there is a desire at Villarreal ‘to get Danjuma out’ of the club in this window, although there is no mention of what fee they would be looking for.
That also doesn’t tally with the idea presented earlier this week that they would be willing to accept a loan deal, unless the wages saved from getting rid of Danjuma would bring in significant funds.
Either way, their willingness to get Danjuma out of the club certainly plays into Everton’s hands, with a deal very much there to be done if they want it.
