Everton are continuing to scout AC Milan left-back Ricardo Rodríguez, with it looking increasingly likely that he will leave the club in January.
Corriere Dello Sport report today that the Switzerland international and his agent met with the club yesterday to discuss his situation at the club.
It was explained at that meeting that summer signing Theo Hernández is now the number one left-back at the club and thus, a solution that suits both parties will be found in January.
They are planning on shipping Rodríguez out, and Everton are among the clubs who could be ready to snap him up.
Corriere explain to ‘keep an eye on’ the Blues as a potential interested party, while the likes of Borussia Dortmund are also in the mix.
It’s not the first time that Everton have been linked, though, with them regularly appearing as potential suitors whenever Rodríguez’s future has been up for debate.
Why they would move to sign him is anyone’s guess, however. They have Lucas Digne in the position and don’t want to swap him, while Leighton Baines is still an able deputy for the Frenchman.
Rodríguez could be a suitable replacement for Baines, but it seems unlikely he’d swap a place on the bench at Milan for one at Goodison Park.
Instead, this latest rumour feels more like Corriere simply looking at who has been linked with his signature before, picking out Everton, and adding them in.
