Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are today added to the race for Clermont Foot striker Mohamed Bayo.

The information comes from French outlet Foot Mercato, who today feature a piece about the big attention the player has been receiving following his impressive season.

Playing in the second division for Clermont, Bayo had 14 goals and five assists, helping the club to achieve promotion to Ligue 1, and therefore attracting a long list of clubs who now want him.

The list of new pretenders includes, besides Everton and Tottenham, the likes of Lille, Hertha Berlin and Valencia, plus Eintracht Frankfurt, who’ve been chasing him for a long time.

There’s not a lot of information on this pursuit from the Toffees and Spurs, with Foot Mercato only saying the two Premier League sides ‘follow’ him.

Now in case Everton and Tottenham really plan to take Bayo this summer, Clermont have been asking for between €13m and €14m to let him go. Lille, who’d like to pay between €10m and €11m, are therefore still short of the amount needed to win the race.
