Everton are still in the hunt for PSG defender Thiago Silva this summer but may ultimately fail to lure the Brazilian to Goodison Park.
That’s according to TuttoMercatoWeb, who say the French giants have changed their mind on the veteran defender this summer.
Silva is set to leave the Parc des Princes with his contract coming to an end and the club having decided to let him leave as part of a mini rebuild.
He’s determined to stay in Europe, and numerous clubs have been linked with making a move, including Everton.
They are of course managed by Carlo Ancelotti, who worked with Silva at AC Milan and PSG and is on the hunt for a new centre back this summer.
Numerous reports have indicated that they have already been in contact about a move and TMW assert that is the case, stating that Everton ‘remains in pressure’ for him.
They’ve identified Silva as the ‘ideal reinforcement’ this summer, with it well known they need another centre back in their squad.
AC Milan and Fiorentina are also in the background, but PSG could ruin all of their plans with a ‘surprise renewal’, something they are already laying the foundations for.
