If there’s one love story the past six months or so have managed to shed a light on, it’s the one between Carlo Ancelotti and Allan.
The Everton manager took over at Goodison Park just before the January transfer window, leading to the Toffees being linked with the Napoli midfielder almost immediately.
It all stems from the idea Ancelotti is a great admirer of the player from the Italian’s time at the helm of the Serie A side, and there was a desire from his end to reunite with his former pupil.
Reports of bids being made for the Brazilian during over the course of the winter window emerged later on, and there is still hope a deal could be struck in the summer.
In fact, according to Area Napoli, Aurelio De Laurentiis, the club’s owner, has reached a ‘tacit agreement’ with the player, which that if an offer arrives on Napoli’s desk ‘that is deemed fair’, then he will be allowed to leave ‘without the brake being pulled too hard’.
It’s made clear Allan ‘considers his adventure with Napoli as coming to an end’, with the website pointing out there is interest from Everton, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus in his services.
That’s great news for Ancelotti and the Premier League club, meaning that all they need to do is work out what the Italians deem ‘fair’.
