Another day, another claim that Everton could move in for Allan in the summer, and because we know there isn’t this much smoke without a fire somewhere, we’re all starting to believe it over at Sport Witness.
It originally started before the January transfer window, as the Toffees were in need of some midfield reinforcements, but despite attempts from Carlo Ancelotti to lure the Brazilian away from Napoli, nothing ever came of it.
That doesn’t mean the Italian manager was left disheartened, as there’s every chance he will make another attempt for the 29-year-old, according to Corriere dello Sport.
It’s explained Allan ‘seriously remains a midfielder who can find himself on the market’, and there is a manager in Ancelotti who has ‘unconditional esteem’ for what the player has to offer.
They add that ‘after trying last January, he could (maybe even should) try again, with the hope of being luckier’.
The arrivals of Diego Demme and Stanislav Lobotka in Napoli’s midfield have made it harder for Allan to get guaranteed game time, and it’s touted he could be entering the part of his career where ‘it can be useful for both him and Napoli to make a change’.
It could be useful for Everton too, and it seems Ancelotti might have his mind set on bringing him to Goodison Park once the transfer window opens.
