Kamil Grosicki has been one of Poland’s better players for some time, and he’s managed to make some people take notice whilst at Euro 2016.
Everton have been repeatedly linked over the past week, with perhaps the most reliable claims coming from Ouest France. The French regional media is pretty good and Ouest France said Everton had proposed €8m for a transfer.
That’s unlikely to be enough, and since then there have been all kinds of claims about interest from elsewhere, competition for Everton, and what the Merseyside club would likely have to pay.
Grosicki plays for Poland tonight against Portugal and a great performance would likely give his current club Rennes strength in the transfer market, but at the same time make him all the more attractive to Everton.
At Rennes since 2014, Grosicki’s dream as a child was to play for Manchester United like his idol David Beckham.
Speaking in December to L’Equipe newspaper, Grosicki explained: “My dream when I was little was to play for Manchester United, like him. I had posters of him in my room and I copied his signature reproduced in newspapers.
“I wanted to be like him! I dreamed of playing with his boots, but they were very expensive and I did not have the means to buy them. I would love to meet him.”
Grosicki can play on the right or left wing, and may be a useful addition if Ronald Koeman sees fit.
