According to Sporx, Oguzhan Ozyakup has rejected the latest contract offer from Besiktas and his chances of remaining with the Turkish champions now look slim.
Ozyakup has been linked with a move to Everton, with reports the Premier League side are lining up an offer for the Turkey international.
The Turkish website today claim Besiktas have offered €1.8m per year to their captain, but Ozyakup’s entourage believe this is too low, and subsequently they’ve rejected the approach.
Sporx say Ozyakup has told Besiktas president Fikret Orman that ‘he can’t sign the contract for this wage’ and the Turkish side’s board are now panicking about the situation.
Ozyakup is reportedly looking for a salary of €2.5m a season, which Everton are prepared to offer him according to claims in the Turkish media.
Everton have been in talks with Ozyakup’s agent and these latest developments will come as a boost to the Merseyside club
