There’s no denying the facts: Everton tried to sign Beto from Udinese in the January transfer window, but weren’t able to do so.
It’s been reported many times, but the Italian club never reached an agreement with the Toffees, who were prepared to pay around €25m for the goalscorer.
Despite this, Everton haven’t given up, and Gazzetta dello Sport explain on Monday that Udinese will not stand in the player’s way if the Premier League side come again.
Looking at the future of the Serie A side, they state that Isaac Success is going to stay, but the same cannot be said for Beto.
As pointed out, it’s easier for their owners to ‘deprive themselves of Beto’, who was already a target for Everton and who has an ‘important’ valuation.
In fact, the player himself is ‘ready to take flight’ in the summer, with bigger and better things expected for him going forward.
That suggests Everton could return, as long as they manage to remain in the Premier League, with Sean Dyche’s men currently still in a tough relegation battle, sitting 15th in the table just two points above West Ham in 18th, who have two games in hand.
