On Sunday we covered claims from Werder Bremen orientated website Deich Stube that Davy Klaassen is a serious transfer candidate for the German club.
Looking for someone to replace Thomas Delaney, who moved to Borussia Dortmund this summer, Werder have landed on Klaassen and obviously believe he could have more success in the Bundesliga than he’s had in the Premier League.
The potential transfer fee was estimated at €13-14m, which would represent a big loss for Everton but still be a relatively big amount for the German club.
Bild have now chased after the claims and been able to back things up and add further information. The German newspaper reports Everton and Werder have been in ‘tough’ talks ‘for weeks’.
It’s stated Everton have agreed to a €15m fee, of which €12m would be the initial payment.
Klaassen is being offered a €3.5m a year contract but hasn’t yet made up his mind about the transfer, and it’s stated Huddersfield Town are also interested.
