Everton have ‘had talks’ with Fenerbahce defender Kim Min-Jae’s agents about a potential move to Goodison Park.
That’s according to journalist Ciro Venerato, who says the Blues will have to move quickly to beat Napoli to his signature.
Kim Min-Jae was named as a possible target for Everton last month after impressing for Turkish side Fenerbahce last season.
We then covered comments from former Everton scout Carlo Jacomuzzi, who said he had followed the defender during his time working with the Blues.
That was followed by a claim yesterday that the Toffees are continuing to think about a move for the South Korean, who would cost €20m.
While they have only shown an interest, Napoli are reportedly pushing to get a deal over the line as they seek a replacement for Kalidou Koulibaly.
Several reports in Italy have indicated that they are close to getting their man, but according to Venerato, Everton remain in the picture for the defender.
“Kim? Even today, I am receiving signs of white smoke for Kim,” he told Calcio Napoli 24.
“There is a continuous email exchange; we are still at sea, and there are contractual aspects to clarify regarding the instalments to be paid. The contract with the player is not simple or nice and done.
“I’m told by Napoli that until it is signed, we cannot take the deal for certain or concluded. I get that Napoli have not given up on other leads, such as Diallo. But also with Lindelof’s agents because the club is not yet certain about Kim.
“Negotiations are also continuing with them: this means that Napoli feel optimistic with Kim, but the contract is not yet signed, and Fenerbahce have not yet accepted.
“The final figure is also being discussed as well as the contract: Napoli’s contracts are long. Everton have not yet sunk in with Kim; they have had talks with the agents and Napoli know this too.”
