According to claims in the French media, Everton have joined the race to sign FC Ingolstadt 04 defender Marcel Tisserand. The DR Congo international could look to leave the German club this summer after they were relegated from the Bundesliga last season.

RMC Sport have reported Everton are one of the latest clubs to show an interest in Tisserand, along with Saint Etienne. It’s been claimed both clubs have made bids for the player with Everton tabling €3m, and Saint Etienne €5m.

However, both will have to increase their offers after reports Ingolstadt value the 24 year old at €8m. It’s been revealed Saint Etienne will continue to hold talks with the German side, but there’s suggestion whether Everton will up their bid.

Tisserand’s club are not under huge pressure to sell this summer as the player is contracted to them until June 2020, but this could change if his valuation is met.

The central defender was also linked with Watford a few months ago.
