Frank Lampard knows he needs to bring in an attacker at Everton, with the club looking short in that department.

Richarlison’s exit to Tottenham this summer, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin picking up an injury has been enough to show how bare the Toffees are when it comes to strikers.

L’Equipe report Everton are ‘studying the possibility’ of signing Serhou Guirassy, who currently plays for Rennes. Last season, the 26-year-old managed 12 goals across 48 matches, adding three assists along the way.

A chunk of those matches were brief substitute appearances, so there’s a reasonable chance Rennes would be wiling to listen to a proposal from the Premier League club.

According to the French newspaper, Guirassy is looking to play more this season, therefore, Everton’s chances may well depend on what sort of role Lampard plans for the player. That said, even if it’s just as a squad option, the attraction of English football could prove enough for the player.

L’Equipe say Rennes won’t block a departure if a ‘satisfactory offer’ arrives, although there’s no indication what that would be.
