The Portuguese media is still to confirm Everton’s interest in Sporting midfielder Wendel, but they continue to bring their information on the player’s situation.
Today, it’s Correio da Manhã covering the latest claims which say the Toffees have been chasing the 22-year-old.
What the Portuguese outlet has to say is that Sporting haven’t received any offers from the Goodison Park side for the player.
They also claim that the Lions are open to letting Wendel go in the next transfer window, and would demand an amount of €20m for his departure.
These latest claims are pretty interesting, because when covering the chase last week, Record said Wendel would cost at least €30m. In that report, the outlet had also claimed the Toffees were still to make an attempt to sign the Brazilian.
So in case the interest is real and Everton do try to sign Wendel, it looks like he could turn out to be a target with a reasonable price for a transfer window where money will be short.
